Bees on the roof

Honey from the Luftburg

Since 2019, the roof of the Luftburg restaurant in Vienna 's Prater, the largest organic restaurant in the world, has served as a safe and undisturbed home for several bee colonies.

In the settled hives, the hardworking honey bees collect and produce a strong golden-colored organic flower honey. Annually, a part of the organic honey is taken by trained beekeepers. From September we are looking forward to 3 new bee colonies from the organic beekeeping "Praterhonig".

Yellow gold

Our city honey is certified organic and of particularly high quality; it is considered especially aromatic due to the diverse pollen mixture.
In addition to its seductively sweet taste, honey is a quick energy supplier, strengthens the immune system, invigorates the heart and has an antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effect.

Happy bees

Our honey bees are kept and cared for by beekeepers according to organic guidelines. They fly over the many flowering plants in the green Prater and conquer overgrown properties, gardens, balconies and also every greened windowsill. City honey has no residues, which means that exposure to fine dust and pollutants has never been detected.

Buzz, buzz, buzz...organic bees buzzing around!

Bees, bumblebees, butterflies & Co are irreplaceable for nature, our environment - and ourselves! We host beehives and their colonies and are infinitely proud to be able to contribute to the protection and preservation of honey bees and wild bees!
