On May 18, 2026, Luftburg – Kolarik in the Prater celebrated its 5th anniversary as the world’s largest fully certified organic restaurant—and what a celebration it was!
Since making the full transition to 100% organic certification in 2021, the Luftburg has set new standards in the Austrian restaurant industry. What began as a bold vision back then is now an international flagship project for sustainable dining—and we celebrated it in style.
A celebration for partners, friends, and the future
In glorious spring weather, long-time companions, partners, and organic suppliers gathered to toast five extraordinary years together. Among the guests were: District Mayor Alexander Nikolai, CEO of the Austrian National Tourist Office Astrid Steharnig-Staudinger, Sales Director of Brau Union Bernhard Mitteröcker, ÖOC President Horst Nussbaumer, CEO of the Schönbrunn Group Klaus Panholzer, Head of the Tourism Section Ulrike Rauch-Keschmann, and soccer legend Toni Polster.
Guests enjoyed the best that Luftburg’s kitchen has to offer: from the legendary crispy grilled Sur ham hock to innovative vegetarian creations—all guaranteed to be organic.
"Success is a team effort"
The future remains green
For us, this anniversary is not an endpoint, but a milestone. Luftburg will continue to demonstrate that scale, quality, and environmental responsibility can be perfectly combined—as a gathering place for all generations who appreciate mindful enjoyment without compromising on taste.
