As an organic restaurant in Vienna, we are committed to using regional, seasonal, and certified ingredients. Our entire menu is 100% certified organic—from our schnitzel to our legendary grilled Sur ham hock. Most importantly, all of our meat comes exclusively from Austria—ensuring the highest quality, transparency, and short transport distances.
This makes us not only one of the pioneers of sustainable dining in Austria, but also sets international standards as the world’s largest organic restaurant.
Luftburg in the Prater: An outdoor dining area serving as a green oasis in Vienna
Just in time for our 5th anniversary, we’ve further enhanced our spacious outdoor seating area in Vienna’s Prater. Newly planted trees provide natural shade on hot summer days, while flower beds and a sustainable wooden fence create an even more pleasant atmosphere.
The Luftburg is thus not only known for its organic cuisine, but also for one of Vienna’s most beautiful outdoor dining areas—ideal for families, groups, and food lovers surrounded by greenery.
A Carbon-Neutral Future: Innovation Meets Responsibility
For us, sustainability doesn’t end on the plate. With a clear goal in mind, we are actively driving the ecological transformation of our business.
Since 2025, Luftburg has been completely gas-free. By using an innovative groundwater heat pump and expanding our solar power system, we save over 135 tons of CO₂ annually. In doing so, we are making a measurable contribution to climate protection and demonstrating how modern restaurants can operate responsibly.

Our dedication has not gone unnoticed: We are particularly proud of the recent “Tourism Stars Audience Award.” This award, presented directly by our guests, is the most valuable recognition of our daily work.
