The Prater, which is becoming quieter, is shrouded in a thick layer of fog, which gives way to the low golden sun in the midday hours. Christmas music plays through the festively decorated garden, and when the Christmas lights come on and the smell of crispy roasted sausage wafts from the kitchen, the Luftburg becomes a particularly cozy place.
Stilt enjoyment: no chance of winter weariness.
This year we are serving knuckle of pork instead of goose - we have reinterpreted our popular classic as Martinistelze with apple red cabbage and potato dumplings. But there are even more wintertime delicacies on the seasonal menu: Bierstelze with bacon cabbage salad, fried pretzel dumplings and Biersafterl or Waldviertel pumpkin gnocchi. The Slovakian bacon cabbage soup will warm your belly and soul, and you shouldn't miss the dessert either - the wonderfully creamy pumpkin spice cheesecake with cranberries.
